Hello! My name is Savanna Shelnutt and I recently joined the Harvest New York Team as an Ag Climate Resiliency Specialist serving the Hudson Valley. Through this work I hope to help increase the long-term viability of farms in the region as we face challenges associated with a changing climate. Recently, I completed my Master’s in Horticulture at Cornell and focused on evaluating the viability of different high-cannabinoid hemp production systems on farms across New York State. In my new role, I will work with an array of stakeholders to provide programming that will increase farm resiliency and empower producers to take an active role in mitigating the impacts of climate change on their operations.
